Balanced fertilization using Petroganik organic fertilizer has been proven to increase rice productivity on the demonstration plot land of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) in Mappesangka Village, Ponre District, Bone Regency. The harvest ceremony was conducted by Endah Wulandari, Senior Manager (SM) of Sales Support Regional 4 at Pupuk Indonesia, and Nurdin, Head of the Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantation Office of Bone Regency on Friday (September 11, 2025).

Endah stated that the rice harvest on the Pupuk Indonesia demonstration plot recorded a productivity of 8.48 tons per hectare, an increase of 69.6 percent compared to the previous harvest, which averaged only 5 tons per hectare.

“The use of Petroganik is very important in rice cultivation because it improves the physical fertility of the soil. Petroganik makes the soil texture looser, allowing the rice roots to grow optimally, and increases the soil’s organic carbon content which supports better nutrient absorption,” Endah explained.

In addition to Petroganik, Endah said that balanced fertilization also combines subsidized and non-subsidized fertilizers according to the e-RDKK recommendations. The harvest results prove that Petroganik plays an important role in increasing yield while maintaining the sustainability of soil fertility.

“This demonstration plot is concrete evidence of the benefits of balanced fertilization using Pupuk Indonesia products. We hope farmers in Bone will be increasingly motivated to redeem subsidized Petroganik fertilizer allocated by the government,” Endah added.

The government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, has allocated subsidized Petroganik fertilizer to support food productivity improvement. Pupuk Indonesia also ensures the availability of subsidized fertilizer stocks, including Petroganik, in Bone Regency in accordance with government regulations.

“With the results from this demonstration plot, we are confident that the sustainable use of Petroganik will be key in improving farmers’ welfare and supporting the national food self-sufficiency program,” Endah concluded.

At the same event, Nurdin, Head of the Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantation Office of Bone Regency, expressed appreciation for the synergy between Pupuk Indonesia and local government in supporting agricultural productivity in Bone. He also encouraged registered farmers to immediately redeem organic fertilizers according to the government’s allocated quotas.

“These results prove that subsidized organic fertilizers, especially Petroganik, can increase rice productivity while improving soil health. We encourage farmers to optimize its use,” Nurdin concluded.

Pupuk Indonesia Provides 140,285 Tons of Subsidized Fertilizer in South Sulawesi

Pupuk Indonesia is committed to meeting farmers’ needs by providing 140,285 tons of subsidized fertilizer stock in South Sulawesi as of September 10, 2025. This fertilizer availability can be utilized by all registered farmers in the eRDKK system according to government-determined allocations. The breakdown includes 65,553 tons of urea, 66,602 tons of NPK, 3,898 tons of Special Formula NPK or Cocoa NPK, and 4,232 tons of organic fertilizer.

Meanwhile, the subsidized fertilizer stock availability in Bone Regency is recorded at 11,451 tons, consisting of 4,397 tons of urea, 6,973 tons of NPK, 69 tons of Special Formula NPK or Cocoa NPK, and 12 tons of organic fertilizer. This stock availability can meet farmers’ needs for the next three weeks.
