PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is once again holding the journalism competition Pupuk Indonesia Media Award (PIMA). This program is open to all journalists in Indonesia, both from national and regional media outlets. For PIMA 2025, the journalistic works entered into the competition should be based on the theme: "Building a Strong Fertilizer Industry for Food Sovereignty."

Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Cindy Systiarani Galuhchandri, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday (October 7, 2025), that the competition is held to increase public understanding of the fertilizer industry's role in achieving national food self-sufficiency, in line with the vision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, as outlined in Asta Cita. The event also aims to highlight the active role of the company and its holding members in promoting productivity and sustainable agriculture in the country.

"The government has made many positive changes to the management of subsidized fertilizer distribution in 2025. Pupuk Indonesia is committed to implementing these new regulations to boost agricultural productivity. Realizing these changes requires collaboration from various parties, including the media, which plays a crucial role in delivering information to all corners of the country," said Cindy.

In PIMA 2025, Pupuk Indonesia is opening five competition categories: Hard News, Feature, Television, Radio, and Photo. Eligible journalistic works must have been published in the media between October 1 and December 31, 2025.

Each journalist may submit reports aligned with the theme, which may include coverage of the performance and operational activities of Pupuk Indonesia and its nine subsidiaries, namely: Pupuk Iskandar Muda, Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, Petrokimia Gresik, Rekayasa Industri, Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, Pupuk Indonesia Pangan, and Pupuk Indonesia Logistik.

"To help participants explore the theme, we’ve expanded it into two sub-themes: 'The Transformation of Pupuk Indonesia Toward a Modern, Efficient, and Accountable Fertilizer Industry' and 'Enhancing Services and Support to Boost Agricultural Productivity'," added Cindy.

In this competition, Pupuk Indonesia is awarding a total prize pool of up to IDR 262.5 million. Each competition category will have six winners. The First Place winner will receive IDR 20 million, Second Place IDR 10 million, Third Place IDR 7.5 million, and three Consolation Prize winners will each receive IDR 5 million. The competition will be judged by a panel of senior journalists, including Editors-in-Chief, senior photographers, or Photo Editors from national media outlets.
