Pupuk Indonesia Group has sent humanitarian assistance to communities affected by flooding in several regions of Sumatra. The aid, consisting of food packages, hygiene kits, school supplies, and daily necessities, was dispatched to Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra by the President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Rahmad Pribadi, from Jakarta on Monday (December 1, 2025).

“Pupuk Indonesia, as part of Indonesia, shares in this grief. Not only have material possessions been lost, but some families in the affected areas have also lost loved ones. This is not only happening in Aceh, but also in North Sumatra and West Sumatra,” said Rahmad.

The assistance sent to Aceh includes 200 school supply packages consisting of school bags, notebooks, stationery sets, and school uniforms. In addition, 200 blankets and 200 food packages were delivered, containing instant noodles, rice, biscuits, UHT milk, and 1-liter packs of cooking oil.

Pupuk Indonesia Group also distributed 575 food packages and 350 hygiene kits each to North Sumatra and West Sumatra. This assistance represents support from Pupuk Indonesia together with several holding company members, namely Petrokimia Gresik, Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, and Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang.

“I would also like to thank PIKA (the Association of Employees’ Wives) for taking swift action. This was followed by the Workers’ Union, which had previously sent assistance. No matter the amount of aid, this is the time for us to unite our hearts and intentions,” Rahmad emphasized.

He further revealed that the flooding disaster in Aceh has also affected the extended family of Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM), a subsidiary of Pupuk Indonesia. A total of 1,100 families of PIM employees have been forced to evacuate.

“This is only the story of PIM and does not yet reflect the condition of the Acehnese community as a whole, nor the communities of North Sumatra and West Sumatra. This is the time for us to stand together and not blame one another. None of us ever wanted this disaster to happen,” he added.

He also urged all employees of Pupuk Indonesia Group to support and work hand in hand to help PIM employees and their families affected by the disaster so they can recover and resume their lives as before.

“I ask Mrs. Tina (Director of Human Resources of Pupuk Indonesia) to ensure that the company provides special assistance to employees and their families—both organic and non-organic—who have been affected by this disaster, especially those at PIM, so they can restart their lives. No Pupuk Indonesia family stands alone. We will join hands to ensure that PIM can once again contribute to the nation and the country,” he stressed.

Adequate Subsidized Fertilizer Stocks

Meanwhile, Rahmad stated that Pupuk Indonesia has temporarily halted operations at the PIM fertilizer plant, which is currently affected by flooding. This decision was taken to ensure the safety of Pupuk Indonesia Group personnel.

Nevertheless, he asked farmers in Sumatra not to worry about the availability of subsidized fertilizers, as supplies previously sourced from PIM will be supported by other subsidiaries within the Pupuk Indonesia Group.

As of December 2, 2025, subsidized fertilizer stocks in Aceh amounted to 3,549 tons, consisting of 1,596 tons of Urea, 251 tons of NPK Kakao, 1,198 tons of NPK Phonska, and 505 tons of organic fertilizer. These stocks are above the minimum levels stipulated by the government and are ready to be redeemed by registered farmers in Aceh.

Adequate subsidized fertilizer stocks have also been prepared for North Sumatra and West Sumatra. Currently, North Sumatra has stocks totaling 34,414 tons, consisting of 25,163 tons of Urea, 6,943 tons of NPK Phonska, 1,220 tons of NPK Kakao, and 1,088 tons of organic fertilizer. Meanwhile, West Sumatra has prepared stocks totaling 23,665 tons, including 16,224 tons of Urea, 7,257 tons of NPK Phonska, and 77 tons of organic fertilizer.

In addition to subsidized fertilizers, Pupuk Indonesia has also prepared non-subsidized fertilizer stocks amounting to 1,047 tons in Aceh, 34,209 tons in North Sumatra, and 4,113 tons in West Sumatra. These stocks consist of Urea, NPK, organic fertilizer, Phosgreen, SP-26, ZA, and ZK.

“Farmers do not need to worry. Pupuk Indonesia Group ensures that the availability of subsidized fertilizers in Northern Sumatra remains secure, supported by stocks from other Pupuk Indonesia subsidiaries. These will be shipped from Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, Petrokimia Gresik, and Pupuk Kalimantan Timur,” Rahmad concluded.
