The distribution of subsidized fertilizer by PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) on the first day of 2026 ran smoothly in accordance with government directives. Starting from January 1, 2026 at 00:00 local time, during the period from 00:00 to 00:30 WIB, a total of 208 subsidized fertilizer redemption transactions were recorded from several provinces across Indonesia.

President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi, said that this success is a tangible manifestation of Pupuk Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining fertilizer availability for farmers. “Pupuk Indonesia carries out the government’s mandate to ensure that subsidized fertilizer is available and accessible to farmers, even from the very first second of the new year. This effort is part of the transformation of the fertilizer industry to support food self-sufficiency,” said Rahmad.

Farmers in various regions of Indonesia also expressed their appreciation for Pupuk Indonesia’s efforts to facilitate the redemption of subsidized fertilizer starting on New Year’s Eve. Suhaeri, a farmer from Jember Regency, was recorded as the first farmer to redeem subsidized fertilizer on January 1, 2026. This was done because he had received direct information from the Government that subsidized fertilizer could be redeemed on New Year’s Eve, his residence is close to an official kiosk, and he wanted to use the fertilizer at the beginning of 2026.

“Because long beforehand I received information that at 00:00 WIB, at the start of the year, fertilizer redemption could be carried out, and since UD Aneka kiosk is very close to my house, I tried to redeem it and, thank God, it was successful. As of January 1, 2026, I successfully redeemed urea and NPK Phonska fertilizers at UD Aneka at 00:01 and 34 seconds using the i-Pubers application. The redemption only required my ID card and cash payment. Thank God, the process was easy and smooth. Thank you to the Government, the Ministry of Agriculture, and Pupuk Indonesia,” said Suhaeri.

The redemption of subsidized fertilizer on New Year’s Eve also received high enthusiasm from registered farmers. Sarino, a farmer from Kutoarjo, Purworejo Regency, said he was greatly helped because he could redeem subsidized fertilizer at the distribution point starting at 00:00 on January 1. “We are very happy because we can redeem subsidized fertilizer easily on January 1, 2026. Thank you President Prabowo Subianto and Pupuk Indonesia. I was able to redeem subsidized fertilizer in 2026 even though it was still early morning (00:01 WIB),” said Sarino.

Subsidized fertilizer redemption was also carried out by farmers in eastern Indonesia, such as Fahchur Hamid, a farmer from Telaga Sari, Merauke Regency. “Thank God, the first redemption on January 1, 2026 went smoothly without any obstacles,” said Fahchur.

The Government’s commitment to providing subsidized fertilizer was also positively welcomed by Sahrul, a farmer from Cakranegara, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). He appreciated the Government for providing subsidized fertilizer stocks from the beginning of 2026. “Thank God, today, January 1, 2026, we are already able to redeem subsidized fertilizer at the kiosk. Thank you to the Government and the Minister of Agriculture for providing fertilizer for farmers,” said Sahrul.

Pupuk Indonesia continues to ensure stock readiness and distribution to support the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizer at the beginning of the year, so that farmers can obtain fertilizer on time. As of January 1, 2026, the total national stock of fertilizer, both subsidized and non-subsidized, reached 1.04 million tons and is ready to be distributed through a physical distribution infrastructure network consisting of hundreds of warehouses, sea shipping routes, and land transportation routes to reach all distribution points.

In addition to stock readiness, the digital Command Center system and the i-Pubers application also ensure that the distribution and redemption process of subsidized fertilizer runs in real time, smoothly, and accountably, including during the year-end transition, and in accordance with the Highest Retail Price (HET).

Rahmad Pribadi stated that the success of timely subsidized fertilizer distribution at the beginning of 2026 cannot be separated from government support through Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2025. “This policy provides certainty for fertilizer distribution from the beginning of the year. Pupuk Indonesia will continue to carry out its mandated role to support national food security and self-sufficiency,” said Rahmad.

Through Presidential Regulation No. 113 of 2025, Pupuk Indonesia is able to enter into contractual agreements with the government regarding the procurement and distribution of 9.8 million tons of subsidized fertilizer for the 2026 fiscal year for the agricultural and fisheries sectors. This regulation also serves as the basis for Pupuk Indonesia to continue efforts to improve the efficiency of the fertilizer industry in order to maintain affordable fertilizer prices for farmers.

In addition to the agricultural sector, subsidized fertilizer was also successfully redeemed by registered fish farmers listed in the e-RPSP (electronic Plan for the Provision and Distribution of Fertilizer Subsidies) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). The 208 subsidized fertilizer redemption transactions originated from registered farmers in Banten, Yogyakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, Lampung, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and South Papua, specifically Merauke.
