PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) successfully distributed subsidized fertilizer to farmers in East Java on January 1, 2026. Several farmers redeemed the fertilizer at the beginning of the year after receiving information from the government, which is committed to providing subsidized fertilizer from the start of the year with an easier redemption process.

The General Manager (GM) 3 of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Taufiek, stated that farmers who were registered successfully redeemed fertilizer on January 1, 2026, from Bangkalan, Bondowoso, and Jember. This demonstrates Pupuk Indonesia’s readiness to serve farmers and meet their fertilizer needs, even though the subsidized fertilizer redemption took place just minutes after the New Year or on January 1, 2026.

“The redemption was carried out by farmers from several regions in East Java. Alhamdulillah, the process went smoothly without any obstacles. Farmers were able to start fertilizing their crops that very afternoon,” said Taufiek.

He added that the fertilizer redemption process for farmers was easy. Registered farmers only needed to visit an official kiosk with their Identity Card (KTP). They could redeem fertilizer according to their allocation and the latest ceiling price (HET), which was reduced by 20 percent.

Taufiek also added that in 2026 the government allocated subsidized fertilizer for the agricultural and fisheries sectors. The allocation for the agricultural sector reached 9.55 million tons, the same as in 2025, while the allocation for fish farmers was 295,676 tons.

Subsidized fertilizer for the agricultural sector can only be redeemed by farmers registered in the Ministry of Agriculture’s Electronic Definitive Group Needs Plan (e-RDKK). Fish farmers must be registered in the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries’ Electronic Plan for Provision and Distribution of Subsidized Fertilizer (e-RPSP).

“We welcome the early-year redemption activity in 2026 because it can support the achievement of national food self-sufficiency,” said Taufiek.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Bakar, a farmer from Tamanan District, Bondowoso Regency, reported successfully redeeming subsidized Urea fertilizer on January 1, 2026, at 00:01 WIB at the Putra Tunggal Kiosk. “The redemption was very easy through iPubers. I just needed to bring my KTP to redeem my Urea allocation for my crops,” said Ahmad Bakar.

Another East Java farmer who successfully redeemed fertilizer minutes after the New Year was Suhaeri from Puger District, Jember Regency. He redeemed Urea and NPK Phonska fertilizer at the UD. Aneka Kiosk at 00:01 WIB. He emphasized that the redemption process was smooth and easy.

In addition, on Madura Island, specifically in Bangkalan Regency, East Java, several farmers also successfully redeemed subsidized fertilizer on January 1. Among them, Moh. Amin redeemed 50 kilograms (Kg) of Urea at a price of IDR 90,000 at 00:10 WIB. Then, Moh. Khotib redeemed NPK Phonska fertilizer at 00:13 WIB for IDR 92,000, and M. Slamet Riadi redeemed Urea at 00:16 WIB.

“This afternoon, we are fertilizing the second rice planting period. Alhamdulillah, the fertilizer could already be redeemed at the start of the year, so we feel at ease,” said Slamet Riadi.
