PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) successfully distributed subsidized fertilizer to registered farmers in the easternmost region of Indonesia on January 1, 2026. This demonstrates the Company’s commitment to meeting farmers’ fertilizer needs from the start of the year to support national food self-sufficiency.

General Manager (GM) 4 of Pupuk Indonesia, Wisnu Ramadhani, stated that registered farmers in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, were able to redeem subsidized fertilizer precisely on January 1, 2026.

“Some farmers in Merauke redeemed subsidized fertilizer exactly on January 1, 2026. Farmers expressed their gratitude, as they could already obtain fertilizer at the beginning of the year, just in time for their early-year planting,” Wisnu said.

Wisnu explained that the redemption of subsidized fertilizer immediately after the new year is proof of Pupuk Indonesia’s readiness to distribute subsidized fertilizer across Indonesia, including Merauke, which is at the easternmost tip of the country. Pupuk Indonesia is committed to distributing subsidized fertilizer according to the 7T principles (accurate target, type, quantity, price, timing, location, and quality).

The redemption process for farmers across Indonesia, including in Merauke, is relatively easy. This is made possible by digital systems such as iPubers, implemented by Pupuk Indonesia at all official kiosks and retailers.

Through iPubers, registered farmers only need to visit an official kiosk with their Identity Card (KTP) or Farmer Card. They can then redeem fertilizer according to their allocation and the latest Government-set Maximum Retail Price (HET), which has been reduced by 20 percent.

Furthermore, Wisnu added that in 2026, the Government allocated national subsidized fertilizer for both the agriculture and fisheries sectors. The allocation for the agricultural sector is 9.55 million tons, while the allocation for fish farmers is 295,676 tons.

Subsidized fertilizer for agriculture can only be redeemed by farmers registered in the Ministry of Agriculture’s Electronic Definitive Group Needs Plan (e-RDKK). For fish farmers, registration in the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries’ Electronic Subsidized Fertilizer Provision and Distribution Plan (e-RPSP) is required.

“We are very pleased to serve farmers redeeming subsidized fertilizer at the start of the year. This ensures that the Government’s programs to increase agricultural productivity can be realized,” Wisnu said.

Meanwhile, one of the Merauke farmers who successfully redeemed subsidized fertilizer on January 1, 2026, is Fahchur Hamid. The farmer from Kurik District redeemed 100 kilograms (Kg) each of Urea and NPK Phonska fertilizer at the Maximum Retail Price (HET) using his Farmer Card at the Fertilizer Recipient Point (PPTS) of BUMK Karya Manunggal.

Fahchur revealed that the price for one 50 Kg bag of subsidized Urea was IDR 90,000, while NPK Phonska of the same size was IDR 92,000. “Alhamdulillah, the redemption was quick and smooth. Thanks to the Government and Pupuk Indonesia,” he said briefly.
