Corporate Secretary of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Yehezkiel Adiperwira, stated in Jakarta on Friday (20/2/2026) that the winning journalistic works are the best pieces reflecting Pupuk Indonesia’s strategic role in providing subsidized fertilizer to support the national food self-sufficiency program.

“Congratulations to all the winners. We see an improvement in the quality of journalistic works in PIMA 2025. This means we assess that fellow journalists have a very strong understanding of the dynamics of improving fertilizer subsidy governance,” said Yezki, the familiar nickname of Yehezkiel Adiperwira.

PIMA 2025 received 558 entries from 335 journalists across Indonesia. This number exceeds participation in PIMA 2024, which recorded 467 works from 259 journalists. The winners were selected based on assessments by a jury panel consisting of editors-in-chief and senior journalists from several national media outlets.

The hundreds of entries were divided into six competition categories: Hard News, Feature, Single Photo, Photo Story, Video, and Radio. The submitted works had been published in their respective media outlets between October 1 and December 31, 2025. Each work covered reporting aligned with the theme, including the publication of performance achievements and operational activities of Pupuk Indonesia and its nine subsidiaries.

The theme of PIMA 2025 was “Building a Strong Fertilizer Industry for Sovereign Food Security.” To assist participants in elaborating on the theme, it was further expanded into two sub-themes: “Pupuk Indonesia’s Transformation to Realize a Modern, Efficient, and Accountable Fertilizer Industry” and “Strengthening Services and Supervision to Increase Agricultural Productivity.”

From the submitted works, six winners were selected in each category: First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and three Honorable Mentions. In total, there were 36 winners. First Place winners received Rp20 million, Second Place Rp10 million, Third Place Rp7.5 million, and each Honorable Mention received an appreciation prize of Rp5 million.

“We hope that this Pupuk Indonesia journalism competition can serve as a strategic platform for public education—not only for journalists but also for farmers. Currently, there are many changes and improvements in fertilizer subsidy governance that need to be widely understood by the public,” Yezki emphasized.
