Makassar, March 13, 2026 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues to strengthen the availability of commercial (non-subsidized) fertilizers in Eastern Indonesia through various promotional programs for distributors and retail kiosks. This initiative is part of the company’s efforts to ensure farmers maintain access to quality fertilizers in support of national food self-sufficiency.

General Manager Regional 4 of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Wisnu Ramadhani, stated that Eastern Indonesia—covering Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua—is a strategic region for the development of the national agricultural sector.

“In addition to subsidized fertilizers, we also strive to continuously ensure the availability of non-subsidized fertilizers at kiosks. The goal is to make it easier for farmers who are not registered as subsidy recipients to obtain fertilizers. With this ease of access, agricultural productivity can be maintained, and food self-sufficiency can continue,” said Wisnu in Makassar on Wednesday (March 11, 2026).

To strengthen distribution and maintain the availability of non-subsidized fertilizers in the region, Pupuk Indonesia has rolled out several promotional programs, including retail distributor promotions, NPK promotions, and the Gebyar Kios Hebat program for retail kiosks.

During the retail distributor promotion period from August to November 2025, total commercial retail fertilizer sales reached 9,456 tons, an increase of 39 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The increase was primarily driven by urea sales of 4,566 tons, followed by NPK at 2,033 tons, and SP-26 at 1,470 tons.

The NPK promotion program in December 2025 also boosted sales. Total non-subsidized NPK sales reached 613 tons, an increase of 163 tons or approximately 37 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The product with the highest contribution in this program was NPK Phonska Plus, with sales reaching 498 tons.

Meanwhile, the Gebyar Kios Hebat program recorded total sales of 528.9 tons. This represents a significant increase compared to the two months prior to the program, with sales rising by 354.3 tons or around 203 percent. The product dominating sales in this program was ZA Plus at 336 tons, followed by SP-26 and NPK Pelangi.

“Through these various promotional programs, Pupuk Indonesia aims to provide stimulus for distributors and retail kiosks to become more active in marketing non-subsidized fertilizer products. These programs not only drive sales growth but also strengthen synergy between the company, distributors, and kiosks in ensuring fertilizer availability for farmers,” Wisnu added.

Finally, Wisnu emphasized that optimizing non-subsidized retail fertilizer sales is also part of the company’s efforts to support agricultural productivity in Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua.

“Going forward, Pupuk Indonesia Regional 4 will continue to introduce innovative and sustainable programs to strengthen the distribution network and expand the utilization of commercial fertilizer products among farmers,” he said.

One non-subsidized fertilizer distributor in Regional 4 welcomed the various programs introduced by Pupuk Indonesia, noting that they help strengthen fertilizer availability for farmers on the ground.

“We are pleased to be part of this joint effort to ensure fertilizers are available for farmers. Through cooperation with Pupuk Indonesia, we strive to ensure fertilizer distribution reaches farmers effectively,” the distributor said.

A retail kiosk participating in the Gebyar Kios Hebat program also expressed a similar view, stating that the program has a positive impact not only for distributors and kiosks but also for farmers.

“The program is very positive. It benefits not only us as sellers but also farmers as consumers who need fertilizers,” they concluded.
