Jakarta, March 17, 2026 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), together with its holding members, has dispatched a total of 1,559 homebound travelers (pemudik) to their hometowns under the “Mudik Gratis BUMN 2026” (Free Eid Homecoming Program). Departures were carried out on March 17 and 18, 2026, from Jakarta and several other regions across Indonesia.

Director of Human Resources of Pupuk Indonesia, Tina T. Kemala Intan, stated that the joint homecoming program is a routine initiative and part of the company’s support in creating a safe and enjoyable travel experience. Through this program, she added, the aim is to reduce traffic congestion and the number of road accidents during the homecoming period.

“During the homecoming season, traffic density increases across almost all regions. This condition can trigger accidents, especially during long-distance travel when drivers often feel fatigued and drowsy. This joint homecoming program can help reduce traffic volume and lower the risk of accidents,” said Tina.

The program was organized by Pupuk Indonesia and its holding members using a total of 31 buses and 8 minibuses/vans. Pupuk Indonesia itself deployed 5 buses carrying 264 travelers, departing from Jakarta to Solo via both the northern and southern routes.

Meanwhile, subsidiary PT Petrokimia Gresik dispatched five buses on five different routes, transporting 200 travelers to destinations including Malang–Blitar, Jombang–Nganjuk, Lamongan–Babat, Bojonegoro–Ngawi, and Kediri–Tulungagung.

PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek sent 6 buses carrying 354 travelers, departing from Cikampek to Kuningan, Tasikmalaya, Pangandaran, and Majalengka.

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur also dispatched 372 travelers using 10 buses, covering routes such as Bontang–Balikpapan, Bontang–Banjarmasin, Bontang–Samarinda, Samarinda–Banjarmasin, and Balikpapan–Banjarmasin.

In Aceh Province, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda deployed 12 minibuses transporting 119 travelers across four routes: Krueng Geukueh–Banda Aceh, Krueng Geukueh–South Aceh, Krueng Geukueh–Medan, and Krueng Geukueh–Kualanamu.

Lastly, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang dispatched 250 travelers using 5 buses on routes including Palembang–Jakarta, Palembang–Serang, Palembang–Surabaya, Jakarta–Solo, and Jakarta–Yogyakarta.

According to Tina, the Mudik BUMN program is a collaborative initiative with the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) and Danantara Indonesia. Its purpose is to help the public travel to their hometowns while reducing the use of private vehicles, which can contribute to traffic congestion.

The joint departure with BP BUMN and Danantara Indonesia took place on Tuesday (March 17, 2026) from Jakarta, where Pupuk Indonesia sent off one bus. Meanwhile, departures with holding members were conducted simultaneously on Wednesday (March 18, 2026) via an online ceremony.

“Homecoming is a tradition eagerly awaited by Indonesians during Eid. We want people to carry out this tradition with joy, comfort, and most importantly, safety. We highly appreciate all participants in this joint program. By joining this program, they have contributed to safer travel by not driving individually,” Tina concluded.
