Pupuk Indonesia Continues To Support Sustainable Development of Weightlifting Athletes By Sponsoring The Senior National Weightlifting Championship 2026.
Bandung, April 17, 2026 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues to support the sustainable development of weightlifting athletes through the 2026 Senior National Championship (Kejurnas) held at GOR Saparua, Bandung, West Java, from April 17–19, 2026. The event is attended by 257 lifters and officials from 25 provinces across Indonesia.
Director of Operations of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to Pupuk Indonesia to contribute to the development of Indonesian weightlifting athletes through this national championship over the past five years. Pupuk Indonesia, in collaboration with its three holding members—PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang—remains committed to supporting continuous athlete development.
“Sustainable development will produce high-achieving athletes, including Rizki Juniansyah, who won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics. Such achievements require continuous development. That is why Pupuk Indonesia is committed to providing ongoing support,” said Dwi Satriyo.
He also expressed appreciation for the fact that this commitment has resulted in achievements that have brought pride to Indonesia on the international stage. Indonesian weightlifters have even set world records.
“Thank God, Pupuk Indonesia’s support has helped bring honor to Indonesia through the achievements of our athletes in international competitions,” he added, while expressing hope that this Senior National Championship will produce new high-performing athletes.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Executive Board of the All Indonesia Weightlifting Association (PB PABSI), Djoko Pramono, extended his gratitude for Pupuk Indonesia’s five-year support in enhancing athlete performance through national championships. PB PABSI, with support from Pupuk Indonesia, organizes championships from junior to senior levels.
“Through this event, we have discovered many outstanding athletes. PABSI administrators at the provincial and district/city levels are highly motivated to provide the best development so they can compete in this national championship,” said Djoko.
He added that PABSI currently has representation in 32 provinces, with 25 provinces participating in this championship. Each province sends its best athletes to compete, with the aim of representing Indonesia in international competitions.
In the men’s category, the championship features six weight classes: 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, and +85 kg. Meanwhile, the women’s category also includes six classes: 49 kg, 53 kg, 57 kg, 61 kg, 69 kg, and +69 kg.
The organizers have set strict eligibility requirements for athletes participating in the event, including meeting the Minimum Opening Attempt (MAP) standards for both snatch and clean & jerk in each weight class. Additionally, athletes must be at least 15 years old, based on a maximum birth year of 2011.
