Manado, April 20, 2026 – Global geopolitical dynamics occurring in the Middle East have not disrupted the stability of subsidized fertilizer distribution in Indonesia, particularly in Pupuk Indonesia Regional 4 or Eastern Indonesia. In fact, subsidized fertilizer absorption has increased at the beginning of this year.

Regional CEO 4 of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Wisnu Ramadhani, stated that as of April 14, 2026, the redemption of subsidized fertilizers distributed by Pupuk Indonesia in Eastern Indonesia had reached 332,255 tons. This figure represents a 125% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

“Pupuk Indonesia continues to ensure that subsidized fertilizer distribution remains stable amid global geopolitical challenges,” said Wisnu during a media gathering event in Manado on Friday (April 17, 2026).

This resilience is supported by Pupuk Indonesia’s self-sufficiency in urea fertilizer production, with natural gas as the primary raw material being supplied domestically. In addition, the company has implemented a diversification strategy for other fertilizer raw materials sourced from countries outside conflict zones.

Regarding the increase in subsidized fertilizer redemption in Eastern Indonesia, Wisnu added that it is inseparable from the simplification of fertilizer distribution regulations implemented by the government through Presidential Regulation No. 6 of 2025.

Furthermore, the government reduced the Highest Retail Price (HET) of subsidized fertilizers by 20% starting October 22, 2025. In addition, beginning in 2026, the government also allocated subsidized fertilizers for the fisheries sector, further improving farmers’ access to fertilizers.

Wisnu also ensured that subsidized fertilizer stocks in Eastern Indonesia remain in good condition. These fertilizers are ready to be redeemed by registered farmers according to their allocated quotas. Pupuk Indonesia also ensures that Penerima Pupuk pada Titik Serah (PPTS), or kiosks/retailers, will serve registered farmers in accordance with the government-determined HET.

“Subsidized fertilizer stocks are more than sufficient. Based on our data, current warehouse stocks can meet farmers’ needs for the next four to five weeks,” Wisnu added.

On the same occasion, Pupuk Indonesia also encouraged media partners to play an active role in combating misinformation and hoaxes, particularly those related to subsidized fertilizers, in order to prevent misunderstandings within the public.

“We would like to maintain communication and dialogue with media colleagues in the regions, so that a collaborative and strategic relationship can be established between the company and the media. We hope that the company’s programs can be communicated effectively to the public,” he concluded.
