Makassar, April 23, 2026 – Entering the April–September planting season, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has prepared 205,451 tons of subsidized fertilizer stock for Regional 4. This stock level exceeds the government’s minimum requirement and is sufficient to meet the fertilizer needs of farmers in Eastern Indonesia for the next four to five weeks.

Regional CEO 4 of Pupuk Indonesia, Wisnu Ramadhani, during the “Regional 4 Media Gathering” in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday (April 22, 2026), explained that the stock consists of Urea, NPK Phonska, Special Formula NPK for Cocoa, Organic fertilizer, ZA, and SP-36 fertilizers. As of April 20, 2026, these stocks have been positioned at Line III warehouses or district/city buffer warehouses, Distribution Business Actor (PUD) warehouses, and warehouses owned by Penerima Pupuk pada Titik Serah (PPTS).

“These fertilizers are ready to be redeemed by farmers to support increased productivity during the April–September planting season. Therefore, we encourage farmers to optimize the availability of these stocks through fertilizer redemption,” said Wisnu.

He added that the stock levels consistently maintained by Pupuk Indonesia in accordance with government regulations have also supported the increase in subsidized fertilizer redemption in Regional 4. As of April 2026, fertilizer redemption had reached 357,227 tons, or approximately 21 percent of the total 2026 subsidized fertilizer allocation for Regional 4, which amounts to 1,689,794 tons.

The high fertilizer absorption rate in Eastern Indonesia has also contributed significantly to national fertilizer absorption. During the same period, national subsidized fertilizer distribution realization reached 2.85 million tons, or approximately 29% of the total allocation of 9.85 million tons. This achievement indicates that subsidized fertilizer distribution in Regional 4 has been running effectively and continues to improve, supported by stronger distribution systems and digitalization in the fertilizer redemption process for farmers.

Furthermore, Wisnu explained that the high absorption of subsidized fertilizers at the beginning of the year has also been supported by improved farmer access resulting from several policy changes introduced by the government. Presidential Regulation No. 6 of 2025 simplified the governance of subsidized fertilizer distribution into a more integrated and efficient system, which was later refined through Presidential Regulation No. 113 of 2025.

“There have been many improvements introduced. In addition to the 20 percent reduction in the Highest Retail Price (HET) for all subsidized fertilizer types in October 2025, farmers can now redeem subsidized fertilizers from the beginning of the year without having to wait through lengthy bureaucratic processes,” Wisnu stated.

He also explained that, to support the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizers in Regional 4, Pupuk Indonesia has prepared various supporting facilities, including 107 Distribution Business Actors (PUD) and 2,207 PPTS. These PUDs and PPTS are spread across Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, South Papua, Central Papua, and Southwest Papua.

Meanwhile, the Regional 4 Media Gathering was attended by various media representatives from television, online, and print media outlets in South Sulawesi. Wisnu explained that the event is part of the company’s efforts to provide the public with a comprehensive understanding of subsidized fertilizer distribution governance in accordance with the government’s mandate.

In addition, through this forum, Pupuk Indonesia also invited media professionals to actively participate in disseminating information in support of achieving national food self-sufficiency. Wisnu emphasized the important role of the media in supporting the national food self-sufficiency agenda.
