Tegal, May 5, 2026 – High farmer enthusiasm in fulfilling their agricultural needs has had a positive impact on subsidized fertilizer distribution in Tegal Regency, Central Java. As of May 4, 2026, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) had successfully distributed 15,993 tons of subsidized fertilizers to farmers throughout Tegal Regency.

Regional CEO 2 of Pupuk Indonesia, Muhammad Ihwan F, stated that the high level of farmer enthusiasm in redeeming subsidized fertilizers has been supported by several factors.

“Many farmers have redeemed subsidized fertilizers since the beginning of 2026 due to the i-Pubers digital system, which makes it easier for farmers to redeem fertilizers at PPTS, as well as President Prabowo Subianto’s policy to reduce the Highest Retail Price (HET) of subsidized fertilizers by 20 percent in October 2025,” said Ihwan during the Workshop on Optimizing Fertilizer Distribution and Farmers’ Financing Access Through Synergy of Government Programs in Tegal.

The distribution realization of 15,993 tons is equivalent to 40 percent of Tegal Regency’s total 2026 allocation of 40,330 tons. The subsidized fertilizers distributed consisted of 8,997 tons of Urea, 6,933 tons of NPK, and 63 tons of organic fertilizer.

To maintain farmers’ high enthusiasm for subsidized fertilizers, Ihwan stated that Pupuk Indonesia continues to ensure the availability of subsidized fertilizer stocks in Tegal Regency. Currently, the company has prepared 1,277 tons of fertilizer stock for the needs of farmers in Tegal Regency, as well as 81,882 tons for the needs of Central Java Province.

“All of these subsidized fertilizer stocks can be utilized by farmers in Tegal Regency who are registered in the Ministry of Agriculture’s e-RDKK (electronic Definitive Group Needs Plan), with redemption adjusted according to each farmer’s government-determined allocation,” Ihwan added.

Furthermore, Ihwan explained that the easier redemption process and the reduction in subsidized fertilizer HET are part of the government’s transformation of subsidized fertilizer distribution governance. These changes simplified distribution bureaucracy, ultimately making it easier for farmers to redeem subsidized fertilizers.

This regulatory simplification is stipulated in Presidential Regulation No. 6 of 2025 concerning improvements in subsidized fertilizer distribution governance. The regulation was later refined through Presidential Regulation No. 113 of 2025, which focuses on fertilizer industry efficiency. As a result, farmers have been able to redeem subsidized fertilizers starting January 1 without having to go through lengthy bureaucratic procedures.

In practice, this convenience can be seen in the simplified redemption process, where farmers registered in the e-RDKK only need to bring their Identity Card (KTP) to the Penerima Pupuk pada Titik Serah (PPTS) when redeeming subsidized fertilizers.

According to Ihwan, the high absorption of subsidized fertilizers in Tegal Regency has also contributed to subsidized fertilizer distribution realization in Central Java Province. As of May 4, 2026, Pupuk Indonesia had successfully distributed 563,675 tons, equivalent to 39 percent of Central Java’s total allocation of 1,434,190 tons.

Lastly, Ihwan also delivered strategic directives in the form of the Eight Briefings of Regional CEO 2 to all Pupuk Indonesia employees in Regional 2 as guidelines in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in the field.

The eight directives include facilitating farmers’ access to fertilizers, maximizing subsidized fertilizer distribution, monitoring stock availability, ensuring prices comply with the HET at every PPTS, building communication with stakeholders, understanding operational areas thoroughly, upholding integrity, and prioritizing occupational health and safety.
