Through Its Command Center, Pupuk Indonesia Strengthens Real-Time Monitoring and Mitigation of Subsidized Fertilizer Shortages
Jakarta, May 20, 2026 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) operates a Command Center as the national fertilizer distribution control hub, enabling faster responses to fertilizer demand through real-time monitoring of distribution activities from production facilities to farmers. The system forms part of the Company’s digital distribution transformation aimed at ensuring fertilizers are delivered more quickly and accurately to intended recipients.
“Fertilizer distribution is a critical component in maintaining agricultural productivity and national food security. Through the Command Center, Pupuk Indonesia has established an integrated distribution system covering production, inventory monitoring, and distribution oversight to ensure fertilizers reach farmers more quickly and accurately,” said Pupuk Indonesia Corporate Secretary Yehezkiel Adiperwira during the PI Insight event held at Pupuk Indonesia’s Command Center, Graha Phonska, Central Jakarta.
Senior Vice President (SVP) of Distribution at Pupuk Indonesia, Veronika Trisna Sukmawati, explained that the Command Center is part of the Company’s digital transformation initiative, integrating various fertilizer distribution systems into a single monitoring dashboard. This integrated monitoring platform supports the implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 113 of 2025, under which Pupuk Indonesia serves as the primary party responsible for fertilizer distribution down to the level of Fertilizer Recipients at Handover Points (Penerima Pupuk pada Titik Serah / PPTS).
“Through this digital transformation, Pupuk Indonesia is building a fertilizer supply chain that is more efficient, integrated, and responsive by connecting distribution processes from upstream to downstream,” said Veronika.
In its operations, the Command Center is equipped with various monitoring features connected across every stage of the distribution process. At the production stage, the system can monitor productivity levels across all manufacturing facilities within the Pupuk Indonesia Group.
During the distribution stage, GPS-based vessel and truck tracking features enable the Company to monitor shipment movements in real time while detecting potential obstacles or irregularities throughout the transportation process.
Furthermore, the Distribution Planning and Control System (DPCS) is utilized to monitor fertilizer inventories across regions using color-coded indicators as an early warning system to identify potential supply shortages at an early stage. Through this system, Pupuk Indonesia can identify regions experiencing high fertilizer demand and immediately adjust distribution patterns without waiting for manual reports.
“Whenever demand increases in a particular region, we can promptly adjust fertilizer supplies to ensure distribution remains smooth and farmers’ needs continue to be met,” Veronika added.
Through integrated monitoring covering both production and distribution activities, Pupuk Indonesia is able to maintain secure national fertilizer inventories. As of May 19, 2026, national fertilizer stocks stood at 1.17 million tons, consisting of various fertilizer products.
Senior Vice President (SVP) of Digitalization & Data Science, Yetty Endarwati, explained that after fertilizers move through the distribution chain from manufacturing facilities to PPTS outlets, the iPubers application serves as the final component in the subsidized fertilizer distribution process.
Through iPubers, eligible farmers only need to present their national identity card (KTP) when redeeming subsidized fertilizers at PPTS outlets, making the distribution process simpler, more orderly, and more accurately targeted.
According to Yetty, iPubers is fully integrated with the Command Center and serves as one of the primary data sources for monitoring subsidized fertilizer distribution in real time. Currently, an average of 2.5 million subsidized fertilizer redemption transactions are monitored each month through the integrated system.
Data captured through iPubers includes recipient identity, fertilizer quantity, transaction time, and redemption location, making fertilizer distribution more traceable and accountable. The integration also enables early detection of unusual redemption patterns and potential distribution irregularities.
“The iPubers application is more than just a redemption tool. It is a critical instrument for Pupuk Indonesia in maintaining an end-to-end subsidized fertilizer distribution ecosystem that is more transparent, accountable, and accurately targeted,” said Yetty.
Vice President of PSO Sales Planning & Billing, Anggy Fajar Maghfiroh, stated that Pupuk Indonesia also continues to conduct direct field supervision to ensure subsidized fertilizer distribution complies with applicable regulations. These oversight efforts are reinforced through coordination with the Fertilizer and Pesticide Supervisory Commission (KP3), law enforcement agencies, local governments, and related institutions.
“Distribution oversight is not carried out solely through digital systems. It is strengthened through coordination and direct field monitoring to ensure subsidized fertilizer distribution remains orderly, properly targeted, and fully compliant with regulations,” she said.
The integration of digital monitoring systems and direct field supervision has contributed to smoother and more responsive subsidized fertilizer distribution aligned with farmers’ needs. This is reflected in subsidized fertilizer redemption figures, which reached 3.7 million tons as of May 19, 2026, approximately 34 percent higher than the same period in the previous year.
