Makassar, July 24, 2026 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is promoting higher aquaculture productivity in South Sulawesi through the implementation of the *Rembuk Petambak* (Fish Farmers' Dialogue) and Joint Redemption of Subsidized Fertilizers for the Fisheries Sector in Maros Regency, Barru Regency, and Pangkajene and Islands (Pangkep) Regency. The two-day program was held from July 22 to July 23, 2026.

Director of Asset Management of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Tri Wahyudi Saleh, stated that the initiative serves as an educational platform for fish farmers on the governance of subsidized fertilizers while encouraging faster fertilizer redemption so that the fertilizers can be utilized optimally to improve aquaculture productivity.

“Subsidized fertilizers for the fisheries sector represent the Government’s commitment to improving aquaculture productivity. Therefore, collaboration among all stakeholders—including the Government, extension officers, Distribution Business Operators (PUD), Penerima Pupuk pada Titik Serah (PPTS), and fish farmer groups—is essential to ensure that subsidized fertilizer distribution is carried out in accordance with the established principles,” said Tri Wahyudi.

He added that Pupuk Indonesia will continue to ensure that subsidized fertilizers remain available and easily accessible to fish farmers in accordance with the applicable regulations. This will enable the program to deliver optimal benefits to aquaculture producers while supporting increased national fisheries production.

According to Tri Wahyudi, 2026 marks an important milestone for strengthening the fisheries sector, as the Government has allocated subsidized fertilizers specifically for fish farmers. The success of this program requires close collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure that subsidized fertilizers reach the intended beneficiaries.

Subsidized fertilizers for the fisheries sector are available to fish farmers who are members of registered farmer groups and are enrolled in the Government’s electronic system managed by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). Eligible commodities include milkfish, vannamei shrimp, tiger shrimp, tilapia, gourami, common carp, catfish, and pangasius.

During the event, Pupuk Indonesia, together with regional governments, Distribution Business Operators (PUD), Penerima Pupuk pada Titik Serah (PPTS), fisheries extension officers, and fish farmer groups, conducted educational sessions covering subsidized fertilizer redemption procedures, eligibility requirements, and transaction mechanisms through the i-Pubers application at PPTS outlets or authorized kiosks. Following the dialogue session, participating fish farmers redeemed subsidized fertilizers directly through the Joint Redemption program.

“We encourage all stakeholders to work together in optimizing subsidized fertilizer distribution in accordance with the seven principles of proper distribution: the right product, the right quantity, the right price, the right time, the right place, the right quality, and the right beneficiaries,” he said.

Throughout the program in Maros, Barru, and Pangkep Regencies, approximately 200 fish farmers participated in the Joint Redemption activities, resulting in the redemption of 94.2 tons of subsidized fertilizers for the fisheries sector. The total consisted of 49.5 tons of Urea, 15.8 tons of Petroganik, and 28.8 tons of SP-36. The initiative is expected to accelerate fertilizer utilization among fish farmers and contribute to higher aquaculture productivity in South Sulawesi.

On the same occasion, Vice Regent of Barru, Abustan A. Bintang, expressed his appreciation for PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero)'s commitment to supporting the fisheries sector through the provision of subsidized fertilizers and the implementation of the *Rembuk Petambak* program. According to him, the initiative provides tangible benefits to fish farmers by improving their understanding of subsidized fertilizer governance while making it easier for them to obtain fertilizers in accordance with the applicable regulations.

“We hope the synergy between the regional government and Pupuk Indonesia will continue to grow stronger so that fish farmers can enjoy even easier access to subsidized fertilizers. With adequate production inputs, we are optimistic that aquaculture productivity will continue to improve and contribute positively to community welfare,” Abustan said.

Pupuk Indonesia continues to ensure the readiness of subsidized fertilizer distribution in South Sulawesi through its reliable distribution network. As of July 20, 2026, subsidized fertilizer distribution in South Sulawesi had reached 448,879 tons, equivalent to approximately 47 percent of the province’s 2026 allocation of 960,329 tons. Meanwhile, subsidized fertilizer stocks at Line II and Line III warehouses totaled 78,098 tons, ensuring sufficient supply to support fertilizer distribution across the province.

Through the *Rembuk Petambak* and Joint Redemption program, Pupuk Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to supporting higher productivity in the fisheries sector by ensuring targeted distribution of subsidized fertilizers, strengthening fertilizer distribution governance, and fostering sustainable collaboration with all stakeholders.
